No, I'm not suggesting you leave your house looking like a bum. To be honest mastering the art of channeling the new age hobo-chic look is possessed by very far and few between, and even then, its more so a statement of wealth than it is about style.
Don't get me wrong, I've had my hobo-chic moments, but today we aren't here to talk about them. We're here to talk about how track suits are fashionable once more. To be honest, my number one rule to pulling of the look has always been to play with separates. For examples, if you've got a pair of statement Adidas trousers, pair it with a fitted white cotton tee or better yet a simple shoulder-padded top and white sneakers. Similarly, if you own a statement track jacket (as is the case with my image above) pair with a sleek trouser inspired by athleisure.
Tucking the bottom half of the jacket into this silky-satin pair of high waisted Zara trousers gives the look a polished flair that is sleek enough for day or night. I also paired my look with my favourite black cap by 759 Design. Personally I wouldn't be caught wearing a tracksuit to an evening engagement. The moral of the story? Play with separates but keep it simple, trust your intuition and always have fun with fashion and always retain an air of effortless elegance.
