The Restaurant by Dmitri Ruwan

For a few years now, one of my best kept secrets has been a restaurant that is located in the impeccably decorated halls of one of Dubai's finest hotels and today I'll be introducing all of you to its special magic.

Though I typically don't partake in breakfast, Friday mornings are typically allocated for a one on one with my mother, and this weekend I thought it fitting to introduce her to one of my favourite hideaways - The Restaurant(yes, that's what it's called) Typically a reservation is needed (for the lounge portion) however on the drive there I almost had a mild panic attack when I was informed that breakfast was being served, but the Library was only opening from 12:00PM. Now, keep in mind that 'the Library' portion is where I'd typically sit and have intimate conversations with friends over coffee and cigarettes ( four weeks no nicotine) in a space decorated like a library out of a Sherlock Holmes novel (the ambience alone is worth a visit) But, after having arrived at the hotel, it was evident that I'd have to forego my lofty plans of eating in its confines and instead settle for the typical dining section.

Located just a room across from The library in another well-lit albeit less intimate portion of The Restaurant is where hotel guests and visitors can enjoy a sit down breakfast be it á la cart or from the delicately arranged breakfast buffet. Being that I didn't come all the way for a buffet-type scenario, the option of being able to have my morning black coffee and eggs Benedict with a side of avocado fresh from the kitchen was all I needed. However, the service at the breakfast area left a little to be desired, while the staff were knowledgable and cheerful, having a menu to order breakfast essentials would have been helpful, especially considering that post pandemic, many may not choose to consume food from a buffet-style layout. But I digress, the meal was delicious and worth foregoing my typical library ambience for. To add to that, a meal for two with a cup of coffee will set you back a mere AED 150.00. I've just found more reasons to love The Restaurant at The Address Boulevard Hotel, though I am returning to enjoy coffee at the lounge and a meal in their fabulous outdoor area when the weather permits.
