So, while this may come as a significant shock to most of you that know me. The idea of shopping online never really appealed to me. Why would it? Dubai is known to be a shopper’s paradise with a selection of Malls offering everything from Chanel to Zara all under one roof. There’s rarely a product or item one can’t get within the country. But, as the rules and regulations surrounding the pandemic continued to rise, my once irreplaceable love of ‘the retail experience’ began to dwindle. After all, are those Zara slim-fit leisure joggers on sale worth it?
With the answer being a resounding NO, I decided that it was finally time to dive into the world of online shopping with my one criteria being same-day delivery. The entire reason I preferred the traditional retail experience was the ability to pick up an item and head back home, the added time to wait for a package was just never it for me. So, upon Googling this I began to sift through the perfectly curated digital look books of e-retailers landing finally on Nisnass. Nisnass offers a selection of moderately priced to affordable brands from Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and GAP to Champion, Adidas and Polo Ralph Lauren. There’s something for everyone on the easy-to-navigate website but my favourite would have to be the same-day delivery capability. That gets me more than a sale ever could! So, I happily rounded up a few items that I’ve listed below in order of importance.
Cargo-shorts: the revamped fashion faux-pas are well and truly making a fashionable return to the scene.
Slim joggers: Jogger pants in washed denim, twill and even silk cotton sculpt a millennial shape with newer versions balancing the fine line between sportswear and daywear.
Sweaters, Caps and High-necked T-shirts: Yes, Yes, Yes! Caps in neutral shades smoothly complement any outfit, while sweaters or lightweight pullovers to keep you chic both inside and outside of the house are a must and high-necked t-shirts just add an imperial edge. Though, any high necks with text or prints aren’t a 2020 vibe.
To cap it all off, at the time of writing this article I’ve also popped onto Zara.com and while the app informed me that it would take 4 days for my order to be delivered I’ve already received one of the items, while the next shipment is arriving in a few hours with the final piece arriving on Sunday. The order being split into three different deliveries was annoying, but I can happily say the thrill of unboxing new clothing is a new kind of high I’m getting wholly accustomed to. #PROTIP Add whatever you like into your basket and then sift through and do a quick-edit of what is necessary and what isn't. This will help you stay on budget and avoid over cluttering.
