So, technically this post isn't late to the party especially since there hasn't exactly been a plethora of male celebrities/street stylers doing the trend much justice. But, I digress, I'm not an organisation, therefore it is possible that I've missed out on a few style aficionados that have styled the trend effortlessly and if that's the case then do feel free to tag me on instagram so I can share your look on my stories. Boxing Shorts, yes boxing shorts and no, not boxer shorts. Boxing Shorts are traditionally high waisted shorts in satin or other durable materials that are typically worn by male or female athletes practising the sport of boxing. They are breathable, allow for rapid movement of the legs and often possess a curved slit on each side-seam. Alexander Wang, who is widely recognised as a staple for reinterpreting traditional sportswear into statement-pieces that fly of the shelves like Boy bags at a Chanel sample-sale ( yes, they aren't a urban fashion legend) should definitely be credited for his various interpretations of this sporting essential and I've listed my favourite versions below.

However, what really sucker punched me and called me 'basic af' was when Donatella Versace presented her Fall 2019 Menswear Show with Fuchsia boxing shorts inspired by the ones worn by Tai boxers practicing the art of Muay Thai ( though the label faced criticism for not crediting their source of inspiration accordingly) this lead into the SS20 menswear show which boasted several more traditional short styles in slinky, silky, luscious and just as breathtaking variations. If you've managed to secure the pink version, then cudo's to you, however for those of us that are looking for a more budget friendly option. Renowned sportswear brand Adidas, has a version that's just as stellar with authentic tai wording, and boy am I glad I managed to get my hands on it.
